It is part of a 2 series release, the other being the Nike Dunk High Pro SB "De La Soul." The idea of constructing the shoe from part vinyl was not typically used in the industry, so it helped to make the shoe an instant hit with sneakerheads, paving the way and introducing a new method to the art of shoe designing.

The Nike Dunk Low Pro SB "Barfs" is a Nike SB that not too many people care for, hence the nickname. It features a brown suede upper with blue leather inserts. It features a dark green Nike swoosh and midsole, with the use of gum rubber on the outsole. The colors may not blend well, but the Nike Dunk SB Barf is technologically sound, from the mesh, padded tongue to the Zoom Air insoles. The use of gum rubber on the outsole is ideal for doing tricks, and provides a great board feel.
